2020 SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition
Elon Musk's SpaceX Competition mobilizes Universities across the Globe. A year-long process, the goal is to research, develop and build practical applications of Hyperloop technology. We are currently preparing to compete at the SpaceX Headquarters in Hawthorne California in 2020.
Universities across the world research, develop and accelerate the revolutionary Hyperloop technology. San Jose State University’s team is providing original research in the fields of magnetic levitation, machine learning, and power management. Ultimately, the technology will work by sending pods of cargo, or people, through depressurized tubes at speeds of 700 MPH. That means traveling from San Francisco to Los Angeles in under 40 minutes!
Worldwide, Hyperloop technology is being developed as the fifth mode of transportation. Private companies are currently conducting feasibility testing for Hyperloop systems in several locations, including from Chicago O’Hare to Cleveland, Washington DC to New York, and Abu Dhabi to Dubai. Once completed, it will revolutionize the way people travel, commute, and conduct business.

Who We Are
In Summer 2018, Spartan Hyperloop was a top 3 finalist in the levitation portion of the SpaceX Hyperloop competition.
This year, our team is focusing on expanding our organization with dreams bigger than competing at the annual SpaceX Hyperloop competition. As a group of dedicated engineers, inventors, and entrepreneurs, we are continuously looking for ways to challenge ourselves through partnering with some of the most innovative companies, advisors, and organizations in Silicon Valley. Spartan Hyperloop wishes to provide ambitious individuals within San Jose State University with opportunities to challenge and inspire them outside the traditional classroom.
